Imported cars rarely have a recess that fits a 520 mm UK plate. We make plates to the Japanese and US import sizes so the plate sits in the original mounting instead of overhanging it.

- Japanese import 13 × 7 in (330 × 178 mm) — the common JDM rear recess.
- Japanese import 13 × 6.5 in (330 × 165 mm) — the slightly shallower JDM format.
- US import 12 × 6 in (305 × 152 mm) — American plate fitment.
- Pair, front only or rear only, from £29.99 per plate.
Character finishes
Import sizes are available in 2D printed, 3D gel, 4D 3mm, 4D gel / 5D and bevelled characters, so a Skyline, Supra, Mustang or Silvia can carry the same finish as any other car we build for.
Prices run from £29.99 for a single printed plate up to £69.99 for a bevelled or 4D gel pair, and the builder shows the exact price as you choose.
Road legal or show
Import-size plates can be supplied to road legal specification where the finished plate meets the UK requirements for the registration, character height, spacing, margins, construction and supplier markings. In the builder, Road Legal is only offered where that is genuinely possible for the size and finish you have chosen.
Where a size or character finish cannot be made compliant, it is offered as a show plate for off-road display instead — we will never label something road legal when it is not.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which import plate size do I need?
Measure the recess or the plate currently fitted. 330 × 178 mm and 330 × 165 mm cover most Japanese imports; 305 × 152 mm is the usual US size. If you are unsure, message us on WhatsApp with a photo and a measurement.
Can an import-size plate be road legal?
Yes, where the finished plate can be made to the required UK specification for your registration. The builder only offers Road Legal on configurations we can actually supply that way.
Do you need my documents?
Only for road legal plates. After you have ordered and paid we message you on WhatsApp to collect proof of identity and entitlement to the registration — normally your V5C log book plus photo ID. Show plates for off-road display do not require documents.
