4D Gel Number Plates

What are 4D gel number plates?

A 4D gel plate is built in two stages. First the acrylic character is laser-cut and bonded to the reflective plate, exactly as it would be on a standard 4D plate. Then a clear gel resin is domed over the top of that character.

You end up with two effects at once: the hard shadow line of a 4D character, and the wet, high-gloss curve of gel. It is the finish most customers pick when they want the plate to be the first thing people notice.

4D Gel or 3D Gel?

3D gel domes the gel straight onto a printed character, so the character sits lower and the edges are soft. 4D gel domes the gel over a solid acrylic character, so it stands taller and keeps a defined edge underneath the gloss. If you want the deepest look available with a gel finish, 4D gel is the one.

Sizes and options

• Standard 520 × 111 mm plates, front, rear, matching pair or Mix & Match pair.
• Short plates at 406 × 111 mm (16") and 457 × 111 mm (18") where fitment allows.
• Available on standard, 6 digit and 5 digit hex sizes in eligible road-legal configurations, or as show plates.
• Available on the drip design in eligible road-legal configurations, or as a show plate.
• Road legal to the British Standard, or show plate for off-road display.

How to order

Everything is built in one place. Open the plate builder, type your registration, choose your size and style, then pick a front plate, rear plate, matching pair or a Mix & Match pair. You will see your registration on screen in the style you have selected before you pay.

Next-day UK delivery available, with free delivery on orders over £55 (£5.99 below that). Order before 12:00 PM Monday to Saturday for same-day dispatch. Free adhesive pads are included with every plate order, and a fixing kit with colour-matched screw caps can be added in the builder.

Road legal or show plate

Choose road legal and your plates are made to the British Standard layout and spacing required for UK road use, including the correct font, character sizes and supplier markings. Once your order is placed we contact you on WhatsApp to collect your V5C and photo ID before anything is made.

Choose show plate and you can go further with sizes, borders, tints and effects. Show plates are supplied for off-road display, exhibitions and photography, and are not for use on UK public roads.
