7D Number Plates
7D takes the layered 6D build and finishes the top face with a gloss gel dome, so the characters have both real depth and a wet-look shine. One of our most popular custom finishes.
7D layered gloss characters — available in eligible road-legal or show configurations.
7D is pre-selected in the builder. Standard oblong pair £49.99.
The 7D finish
Each character is built up in layers and then topped with a clear domed gel. The dome magnifies the black face slightly and adds a reflective highlight along the top of every character, which is what separates 7D from a plain layered plate in photographs.
Because the gel is applied by hand over cut acrylic, every plate is made individually to your registration and takes longer to produce than a printed plate.

Road legal or show plate
Choose Road Legal at the Plate Type step and your 7D plates are made to the required specification — we collect your documents on WhatsApp after checkout. Chosen as show plates, no documents are needed and they are supplied for off-road display.
The standard, short, hex, drip, bubble and bat shapes 7D is offered on can all be ordered either way — the shape never decides the plate type.
Ordering from LLA Plates
7D is chosen under More Plate Styles in the builder. Type your registration into the plate builder, pick your size, characters and any extras, then choose a front plate, rear plate or a pair. You will see your registration on screen before you pay.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use 7D plates on the road?
Yes, when ordered as Road Legal — we make them to the required specification after collecting your documents. Ordered as show plates they are for off-road display only.
Is 7D more durable than 4D?
The gel dome is tough and weather resistant, but any raised character build is more exposed than a flat printed plate. We would avoid close-range pressure washing on any raised plate.
Can I order just one plate?
Yes. Every product can be ordered as a front plate only, a rear plate only or a matching pair, and the price changes accordingly in the builder.
