6D Number Plates
6D is the first of our extended-depth character builds: layered acrylic that stands noticeably further off the plate than a standard 4D, catching light along every edge. Built to order in road-legal or show configurations.
6D layered characters — available in eligible road-legal or show configurations.
6D is pre-selected in the builder. Standard oblong pair £44.99.
How 6D differs from 4D
A 4D plate uses a single layer of laser-cut acrylic. A 6D character is built from more than one layer, so the face of the character sits higher and the sides show a visible stepped edge. In daylight it reads as a much deeper character; at night it throws a stronger shadow.
Every 6D plate is built individually to your registration, with the layered construction giving a deeper profile the more layers are added.

The shape you pick never changes this choice — standard, short, hex, drip, bubble and bat shapes can all be ordered either way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are 6D plates road legal?
Yes, where the selected configuration meets our road-legal requirements. Choose Road Legal in the builder for a compliant specification, or Show Plate for off-road display.
What is the difference between 6D, 7D, 8D and 9D?
They describe how many layers are used and therefore how deep the characters stand. 6D is the shallowest of the four and 9D the deepest, with price rising accordingly.
Can I order just one plate?
Yes. Every product can be ordered as a front plate only, a rear plate only or a matching pair, and the price changes accordingly in the builder.
