What a standard printed plate is
A standard plate is printed directly onto reflective sheeting and laminated, giving a flat, factory-style finish. Front plates are white, rear plates yellow, and the characters use the mandatory Charles Wright font at the legal character height and spacing.
Because there is no raised acrylic or gel on the surface, printed plates are the easiest to clean, the least likely to catch on a pressure washer and the most affordable way to replace a plate that has cracked, crazed or yellowed with age.

Road legal specification
Ordered as road legal, your plates are made to the current British Standard: correct font, character height, spacing and margins, solid black characters on a reflective background, and the supplier name, postcode and BS number printed along the bottom edge.
You can also order the same design as a show plate — for example a smaller size or a non-standard layout — but a show plate must not be displayed on a vehicle used on public roads.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are standard printed plates road legal?
Yes, when ordered as road legal with the standard 520 × 111 mm oblong size (or a permitted short size for vehicles designed for one). They carry the required font, spacing, margins and supplier markings.
What is the difference between printed and 3D gel plates?
Printed characters are flat and sit under the laminate. 3D gel characters are raised, domed and glossy. Both can be made road legal — gel is a cosmetic upgrade rather than a legal difference.
Can I order just one plate?
Yes. Every product can be ordered as a front plate only, a rear plate only or a matching pair, and the price changes accordingly in the builder.
Do you need my documents?
Only for road legal plates. After you have ordered and paid we message you on WhatsApp to collect proof of identity and entitlement to the registration — normally your V5C log book plus photo ID. Show plates for off-road display do not require documents.
